If you computer is connected to the network, unplug the ethernet cable. This will make sure the virus does not spread to other computers. Restart your computer in Safe Mode. To do this: Restart the computer and after hearing the first beep, hold down the "F8" key. You will see a menu that gives you the option to "Start Windows in Safe Mode." Select this option. Run your Virus checking software and remove any detected viruses. Restart your computer regularly. Re-run Virus check to make sure that all viruses have been removed. Once you are sure that viruses have been removed, re-attach your ethernet cable. If problems persist, contact your computer support professional. |
