Windows 98 Dialer
1. Close all open programmes on your computer and make sure that you are seeing your Desktop.
2. Double click on the My Computer icon
3. Double click on the Dial-up Networking icon

4. Double click on the “ Make New Connection ” icon. The Make New Connection Wizard will appear

5. Type a name for this icon. You may want to put ‘GuyanaNet digital' or ‘Digital Connection' in the text box. Click Next when done

6. In the Telephone Number box, type the following number: 2235432. Do not enter an area code. Click Next , then Finish . You have now completed making the dialler and should see an icon labelled ‘Digital Connnection' in the Dial-up Networking window.

7. Right click on the Digital Connection icon. A menu will appear. Left click on the Properties option. The Digital Connection properties will now appear.

8. Uncheck the ‘Use area code and Dialing Properties'

9. Click on ‘Server Types'.
Check marks (ticks) must only be in the following options:
'Enable software' compression and ‘TCP/IP'. Remove all other check marks. Click the ‘ OK' button

10. You should now be at the Dial-up Networking window again. Right click on the Digital Connection icon. A menu will appear. Select the option ‘Create Shortcut'. You will receive dialog box asking you if the shortcut should be placed on the desktop. Click the ‘ YES' button.

You should now see an icon labeled ‘Shortcut to Digital Connection' on your Desktop

11. Double click on the Digital Connection shortcut on your Desktop. Enter your username and password and click connect. Your username is the first part of your email address, e.g., if your email address is louis@guyana.net.gy then your username is ‘louis'.

12. Your computer will then dial-up to GuyanaNet. Your username and password will be verified, and you will be logged-on to GuyanaNet. You can tell that you are connected if you can see this icon appearing in the lower right hand corner of your screen
